Aqualink Box Hill

A tailored smart-locker upgrade for three aquatic areas

Metra Australia was appointed to upgrade the locker system across Aqualink Box Hill’s ground-floor aquatic areas. After ten years of service, the lockers remained in good condition, but the ageing locking system was no longer supported. Aqualink needed a durable solution for a high-chlorine environment, with secure member access, casual-user payment, software integration, reporting and ongoing support.

Metra developed an approved layout of 104 lockers across three areas: 48 at the diving pool, 22 at the pool deck mezzanine and 34 at the 25 m pool. The design includes three touchscreen interfaces with contactless payment stations, centrally managed access and battery-free, hardwired locks.

Phenolic high-pressure laminate was specified for durability in the aquatic environment. Routed numbering and a mix of locker sizes support different user needs.

The Box Hill installation was added to Aqualink’s existing locker management software at Nunawading, allowing central administration and reporting across both sites while authorised staff manage only their own locker banks. The system was also specified to integrate with Perfect Gym Solutions.
